Heavy duty winter boots
These are pretty heavy-duty winter boots from Salomon. I own the Snowtrip, which is great all-around boot, but this one seems to be warmer and little bit more beefed up. Great sole as on most Salomon shoes which becomes 'sticky' in cold weather. The shoe has athletic fit, little bit on the narrow side, but it I actually like it as it gives me little more control.
Warm and dry
Warm and dry-that's what you want from a boot and this one has it. I have used the boots in -20 and they held up nicely. With merino wool socks I was pretty toasty and they had good grip. It seems like the rubber was designed for winter because they actually work better on snow and ice than in asphalt in warmer conditions. Easy to get in and out, even with gloves as everything is oversized. No leaks so far and I had them for 4 months now. I'm quite happy.
